Want to display customer reviews from Google on your WordPress website? This guide explains how to add the Widget House Google Reviews Widget to one selected page or place it in a global footer area across your website.
Before you begin, make sure you've created your widget and copied the installation code from your Widget House dashboard
Step-by-step guide to getting your Widget House widget code
Choose How You Want to Display the Widget
Add the widget to a single page
Log in to your WordPress dashboard and make sure you are using an account that can add custom HTML and JavaScript.
Open your Widget House dashboard and copy the complete installation code for your Google Reviews Widget.
If your website is hosted on WordPress.com, the Google Reviews Widget requires a plugin-enabled plan because its installation code contains JavaScript. On a self-hosted WordPress website, use an account with the unfiltered_html capability so WordPress does not remove the script.
Step 1: Log In to WordPress and Copy the Widget Code
In the WordPress dashboard, go to Pages and select All Pages.
Find the page where you want the Google Reviews Widget to appear and click Edit.
If the page uses Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, or another page builder, open the page with the corresponding builder instead.
Step 2: Open the Page Where You Want to Add the Widget
The Google Reviews Widget is static, which means it appears exactly where its installation code is placed.
Choose the section of the page where you want visitors to see the reviews. For example, you can place the widget below a service description, above a contact form, before a call-to-action, or near the bottom of the page.
In the WordPress block editor, click the required position and use the + Block Inserter to add a new block.
If you are using a page builder, select the exact section where you want the widget to appear before adding the corresponding HTML or code element.
Step 3: Choose the Exact Position for the Widget
Click the + Block Inserter and search for Custom HTML.
Select the Custom HTML block and place it in the exact section where you want the Google Reviews Widget to appear.
Do not select the regular WordPress Code block. The Code block displays source code as text instead of running the widget.
If you are using a page builder, add its HTML, Custom HTML, Raw HTML, Code, or equivalent element that supports custom HTML and JavaScript.
Step 4: Add a Custom HTML Block
Open the Custom HTML editor and paste the complete Google Reviews Widget installation code from your Widget House dashboard.
Keep the script and widget container together in the same Custom HTML block. Do not remove, split, or change any part of the installation code.
The code shown in the screenshots is an example. Always use the installation code generated for your own widget so the correct reviews and design are displayed.
The widget may not appear immediately inside the WordPress editor. You can check the final result after updating or publishing the page.
Step 5: Paste the Google Reviews Widget Code
Click Update if the page is already published, or click Publish if it is a new page.
Open the live page in a new browser tab and make sure the Google Reviews Widget appears in the selected position.
Check the widget on both desktop and mobile devices. If necessary, return to the editor and adjust the position or width of the block containing the widget.
If the widget does not appear, make sure the complete code was saved and that WordPress did not remove the <script> tag. Use an account with the unfiltered_html capability. On WordPress Multisite, this generally requires a Super Admin account. You may also need to clear your website cache or caching plugin.
Step 6: Update the Page and Check the Widget
If WordPress removes the widget's <script> tag or the widget still does not load after the previous steps, use the Widget House loader plugin as an alternative.
The plugin loads the Google Reviews Widget script through WordPress. You will then add only the widget container to the page.
Download Google-Reviews-Widget.zip. Keep the file as a ZIP archive and do not extract it.
Step 7: Use the Plugin Method If Direct Installation Does Not Work
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
Click Upload Plugin, select Google-Reviews-Widget.zip, and click Install Now.
When the installation is complete, click Activate Plugin. The plugin now loads the Google Reviews Widget script on your website.
Step 8: Upload and Activate the Plugin
Return to the page and open the Custom HTML block where you want the reviews to appear.
Remove the complete installation code that you tried previously so the widget script is not loaded twice.
Paste only the widget container:

Just replace Widget installation code from your Widget House dashboard.
Click Update or Publish, then open the live page in a new browser tab.
Make sure the Google Reviews Widget appears in the selected position and check it on both desktop and mobile devices.
If it is still missing, confirm that the plugin is active, the container uses the correct widget ID, and your cache has been cleared.
Step 9: Add Only the Widget Container to the Page

Show It on All Pages of Your Website
Because the Google Reviews Widget is static, we recommend placing it in a global footer area when you want it to appear across your WordPress website.
This keeps the static widget in a specific and consistent position at the bottom of every page that uses the same footer.
Before editing the footer, make sure your WordPress setup and user account allow custom JavaScript. On WordPress.com, this requires a plugin-enabled plan.
If your website uses a block theme, go to Appearance → Editor.
If your website uses a classic theme, go to Appearance → Widgets. Some classic themes may also provide footer areas under Appearance → Customize → Widgets.
If your website uses Elementor Theme Builder, Divi Theme Builder, or another theme builder, open the global footer template in that builder instead.
Step 1: Open the Global Footer Editor
For a block theme, open Patterns, find the template parts, and select the Footer template part used by your website.
For a classic theme, open one of the available footer widget areas, such as Footer, Footer 1, or Footer Widget Area.
For Elementor, Divi, or another theme builder, open the global footer template that is assigned to your entire website.
Choose the exact position where you want the Google Reviews Widget to appear. You can place it above contact details, navigation links, a newsletter form, copyright information, or other footer content.
If your theme does not provide an editable footer template or footer widget area, add the widget separately to the required pages or ask your website developer to create a reusable footer section.
Step 2: Select the Footer and Choose the Widget Position
In a block theme, click the + Block Inserter inside the Footer template part and add a Custom HTML block.
In a classic theme, add a Custom HTML block or widget to the selected footer widget area.
If you are using a theme builder, add its HTML, Custom HTML, Raw HTML, Code, or equivalent element to the selected footer position.
Move the block, widget, or code element to the exact footer position where you want the reviews to appear.
Do not use the regular WordPress Code block, because it displays code as text instead of running the widget.
Step 3: Add a Custom HTML Block to the Footer
Paste the complete Google Reviews Widget installation code from your Widget House dashboard into the Custom HTML block, widget, or corresponding code element.
Keep the script and widget container together in the same block. Do not edit the script URL, widget ID, or HTML container.
The code shown in the screenshots is an example. Use the installation code generated for your own widget before saving the changes.
The widget may not appear inside the footer editor preview. Check the live website after saving or publishing the updated footer.
Step 4: Paste the Google Reviews Widget Code
For a block theme, click Save and confirm that the changes to the Footer template part should be saved.
For a classic theme, click Update, Save, or Publish, depending on the footer editor provided by your theme.
For Elementor, Divi, or another theme builder, update or publish the global footer and make sure its display conditions apply across your website.
Open several pages of your website, such as the home page, contact page, product or service page, and a blog post.
The Google Reviews Widget should appear in the same footer position on every page that uses the edited footer.
Check the widget on desktop and mobile devices. If it is missing from a specific page, that page may use a different template, a layout without the global footer, or different theme builder display conditions.
Step 5: Save and Check the Widget Across Your Website
If WordPress removes the <script> tag from the footer block or the widget does not load after the previous steps, use the Widget House loader plugin as an alternative.
Download Google-Reviews-Widget.zip. Keep the file as a ZIP archive and do not extract it.
The plugin loads the Google Reviews Widget script across your website. The global footer will only need the widget container.
Step 6: Use the Plugin Method If the Script Is Removed
In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
Click Upload Plugin, select Google-Reviews-Widget.zip, and click Install Now.
When the installation is complete, click Activate Plugin.
Step 7: Upload and Activate the Plugin
Return to the Custom HTML block, widget, or code element in your global footer.
Remove the complete installation code so the plugin and footer do not load the same script twice.
Paste only the widget container:

Save or publish the global footer, then open several live pages of your website.
Make sure the Google Reviews Widget appears in the expected footer position on every page that uses the edited footer.
If it is missing, confirm that the plugin is active, the container uses the correct widget ID, the footer is assigned to the page, and your cache has been cleared.
Step 8: Keep Only the Widget Container in the Global Footer
All set. Your Google Reviews Widget should now be working on your WordPress website.
